The Washington Wizards converted rookie forward Jamir Watkins’ two-way contract to an NBA contract on Thursday.
The team didn’t disclose terms of the deal, but ESPN reported it’s a two-year deal for the Florida State product.
Watkins, the 43rd overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft, was drafted by the Utah Jazz but acquired by Washington that same night. He’s appeared in 30 games (four starts) for the Wizards, averaging 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
He averaged 13.2 points and one steal over his last six games.
In nine G League games with the Capital City Go-Go, Watkins has averaged 13.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals.
